Livingston Sees 'Record-Breaking' Warm Christmas: Local Weekend Weather Forecast Says Rain Possible

Livingston is seeing one of the warmest winter holiday seasons on record, the NWS says.

Maybe global warming has its benefits, Livingston.

While we’re just kidding about that statement, the unseasonably warm winter holiday season this year may be one for the books.

According to a National Weather Service advisory issued on Thursday morning:

“Record-breaking warm temperatures are likely with highs in the lower 70s in the NYC metro… and 60s elsewhere.”

The NWS continued:

“Behind the cold front somewhat drier air will move in, keeping much of Christmas Day dry. The chances of more wet weather will increase during Christmas night into Saturday. Record warmth is likely to continue through Christmas Day. Somewhat cooler temperatures are likely for Saturday. However temperatures will remain well above normal into the weekend.”

As of Thursday morning, the NWS predicted the following weather for the area:

Christmas Day: Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 65. Light and variable wind.

Friday Night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 52. Northeast wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Saturday Night: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 46. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Sunday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
