According to a county alert:

“Due to the large amount of rain received over the last few weeks, the county, in conjunction with the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, will conduct an aerial larval control operation, using granular BTI, on Thursday, May 24. This operation is contingent on favorable weather. Mosquito spraying will be between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. Areas to be treated are along the Passaic River floodplains in Fairfield, West Caldwell, Caldwell, Roseland and Livingston.”

According to county officials, residents of those towns may see a low-flying helicopter spraying granules on Thursday. The helicopter will be operating from Essex County Airport in Fairfield.
