MAHWAH, NJ — A new romantic comedy was filmed in part at Ramapo College of New Jersey, a spokesperson confirmed.

"Sweethearts", directed by Hulu's "Dollface" creator Jordan Weiss, is now in post-production, according to IMDb. A release date has not yet been announced, though filming wrapped in August 2022, Weiss revealed on Instagram.

"That's a wrap on the experience of a lifetime (and) my favorite summer," Weiss said. "I have nothing cool to say right now. My heart is pure mush."

Starring Kiernan Shipka and Nico Hiraga, the film focuses on two college freshmen who pull a "Turkey Dump" and break up with their high school sweethearts over "Drunksgiving" — the one chaotic night before Thanksgiving in their hometown that puts their codependent friendship to the test, IMDb said.

Shipka and Hiraga have garnered numerous acting credits — Shipka is perhaps most known for playing Sally Draper in AMC's "Mad Men", and Hiraga is known for playing Tanner in the 2019 film "Booksmart". Additional cast members include Caleb Hearon, Tramell Tillman and Jake Bongiovi (Jon Bon Jovi's son).

Director Weiss, who co-wrote the script with friend Dan Brier, shot the film at Ramapo, and in Jersey City and Cranford.

In "Happy Birthday" post addressed to "Danny B" in December: "I can't believe we got to make a movie about being best buds and I can't wait for everybody to see it."
