Belmar Man Arrested For Placing Referee In Chokehold: Reports

The 40-year-old Belmar resident was arrested after placing the referee in a chokehold, reports say.

BELMAR – A Belmar man was arrested in Pennsylvania for attacking a referee during a youth wrestling match, according to authorities.

Christopher Musiolowski, 40, was upset about a call made during a children's wrestling meet and allegedly went onto the mat during a match, pushed the official to the ground and placed him in a chokehold, according to the Daily Voice.

According to Penn Live, Musiolowski told the police he thought the referee was trying to leave and wanted to speak to him. Bystanders separated the two, Lancasteronline reported.

The father is charged with assault after police said he tried to choke the Spooky Nook Sports referee he blamed for his son’s loss in a wrestling match, according to Penn Live. The altercation occurred May 1 at the East Hempfield Township sports complex, according to the report.

According to online records, Musioloski was able to make the $20,000 bail and was released from Lancaster County Prison. He will face a preliminary hearing before Judge Brian Chudzik on June 23rd.
