MANASQUAN, NJ - The U.S. Coast Guard airlifted a male boater who suffered a medical emergency Monday morning at sea approximately 46 miles east of Manasquan.

After members of the Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay team received a call from the captain of a fishing vessel that a crewmember was losing and regaining consciousness, as well as having difficulty breathing, emergency services were deployed to rescue the boater.

A Coast Guard Air Station MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew was launched to retrieve the crewmember after it was determined that weather conditions would not allow for a boat to safely transfer him to the mainland.
