BELMAR-The New Jersey State Police will be setting up a checkpoint in Belmar on May 1.

According to a press release, the goal of this checkpoint is to reduce the number of accidents caused by drivers driving under the influence.

At this checkpoint, troopers will be looking for signs of impairment, so if you plan on drinking, either have a designated driver, call for either a cab, Uber, or Lyft, or stay where you are.
