Morris School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Morris is September 6. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Morris School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

November

• 11/7: Staff Development - No School for Students
• 11/9-10: NJEA Convention - No School
• 11/13: End of First Marking Period
• 11/22: Early Dismissal
• 11/23-24: Thanksgiving Recess - No School

December

• 12/4: Conferences – All Grades – 4 hr. 20 min. day for students
• 12/22: Early Dismissal
• 12/25-1/1: Winter Recess - No School

January

• 1/15: Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No School
• 1/30: End of Second Marking Period

February

• 2/19: Presidents' Day/Mid Winter Break - No School
• 2/20: Staff Development - No School for Students

March

• 3/14-15: Middle/High School Parent Conferences – 4 hr 20 min day for students
• 3/21-22: Elementary School Parent Conferences – 4 hr 20 min day for students
• 3/30: Good Friday - No School

April

• 4/2-6: Spring Break - No School
• 4/17: End of 3rd Marking Period

May

• 5/28: Memorial Day - No School

June

• 6/15-21: 4 hr. 20 min. day for MHS students only
• 6/19-21: 4 hr. 20 min. day for PK-12 students
• 6/20: Middle School Graduation
• 6/21: High School Graduation
