Bergen County Woman Abused Child Under 16, Prosecutors Say

FAIRVIEW, NJ — A 38-year-old Fairview woman was charged Tuesday with endangering the welfare of a child, prosecutors say.

Cassandra M. Gianotti was arrested in Paramus after an investigation and charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that on Friday, July 12, 2024, the Fairview Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged physical abuse of a juvenile under the age of 16.

An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fairview Police Department determined that Gianotti "physically assaulted a juvenile under the age of 16 in Fairview on Thursday, July 11, 2024," prosecutors say.

Gianotti was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
