Done With Beryl? Flood Watch Issued For Bergen County; See Timeline

"Potential to produce heavy downpours that may lead to flooding" in North Jersey, the NWS says. But the next day will be sunny and 93.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The remnants of Hurricane Beryl have dissipated, but Bergen County will still be subject to heavy rains Friday into Saturday, forecasters say. Dangerous rip currents may swirl in the Atlantic Ocean Friday night.

A flood watch has been issued for the county through 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The NWS said: "Showers with embedded thunderstorms are expected to shift through the area today through Saturday. Any thunderstorm will have the potential to produce heavy downpours that may lead to flooding. A total of 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is anticipated with locally higher amounts. The period for the greatest threat of flooding is this afternoon through Saturday morning, however, flooding will still be possible Saturday afternoon."
