Million-Dollar NJ Lottery Winner Bought Ticket In Bergen County

A $1M winning lottery ticket was sold at a Bergen County store. The jackpot rolls to $262 million for the next drawing late Tuesday night.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Someone who bought a ticket at a stationery store in Bergen County is quite a bit richer today.

According to the NJ Lottery, someone bought a ticket Friday that matched five of the five white balls drawn, winning the $1 million prize.

The ticket was sold at Emerson Stationery, 191 Kinderkamack Road, Emerson, in Bergen County.

There were one third-tier prizewinning ticket sold that matched four of the five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball drawn, winning the $10,000 prize. That ticket was purchased at Country Farm, 1169 Sussex Turnpike, Randolph in Morris County.

In addition to the second and third-tier prizes won, 48 players matched four of the five white balls drawn making each ticket worth $500. Seven of those tickets were purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prizes to $1,000.

The winning numbers for the Friday, Jan. 19, drawing were: 01, 09, 16, 17, and 30. The Gold Mega Ball was 17, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 02.

The jackpot rolls to $262 million for the next drawing to be held on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 11 p.m. All New Jersey Lottery Mega Millions tickets must be purchased before 10:45 p.m. to participate in the drawing.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2. By adding the Megaplier option for an extra dollar per play, players can increase their non-jackpot winnings up to five times. Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.
