Ridgewood Pilates Studio Joins Bergen Boutique Club

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A now-closed fitness center in Ridgewood has become part of a new studio-centric destination in Bergen County, according to a spokesperson.

Pure Impact Pilates, formerly owned by Robyn Bovino, opened on May 1 in a space inside the new multi-boutique Life Time club at The Shops at Riverside, the spokesperson said.

Pure Impact, which notified clients in April of its new location, had some "delays" in opening at the end of 2019, just before the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Through hard work and dedication, however, founders Bovino and Jackie Rosa have brought the pilates experience to a "new level" at The Shops in Hackensack, the spokesperson added.

Bovino is the main instructor at Life Time's new studio, which purports to be the "new hot spot for pilates aficionados in the tristate area," and she is one of a number of top instructors from the area offering classes and lessons, a marketing release said.

The announcement coincides with National Pilates Month and comes as pilates grows in popularity, specifically among men, as a fitness trend, as recently covered by the Wall Street Journal.

Life Time's new pilates studio is for dedicated fans and those interested in trying the exercise, and joins other spaces (for dance, yoga, etc.) at the club, which opened in January 2022.
