Ridgewood Tree Lighting Ceremony Set For Dec. 6

The town will ring in the holiday season with its annual tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 6.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ – Ridgewood will ring in the holiday season with its annual tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 6.

The Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce has several family-friendly activities planned as part of the 2019 Downtown for the Holidays celebration.

An early event for kids, Santa in the Park, will run from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.

There will also be live entertainment by the clock downtown, as well as in the stores and restaurants along East Ridgewood Avenue. Performers include the Ridgewood High School marching band, Ridgewood High School carolers and Ridgewood High School orchestra. In addition, there will be a track-less train – weather permitting.

This year will also feature Ridgewood Parks and Recreation’s Winter Fire and Light Show from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in Memorial Park at Van Neste Square.

Ridgewood Fire Department, Ridgewood Local 47 FMBA and Ridgewood Parks and Recreation will set up warming stations, s’more roasting, log fires and seating.

The tree lighting ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. and feature performances by Porch Light Productions, Art of Motion, RHS Marching Band, Taekowondo all in and more.

Afterwards, festivities will continue on East Ridgewood Avenue until 9 pm.
