Police Officer Sent To Hospital After Juvenile Suspects Slam Into Glen Rock Cop Car

Juveniles fleeing Paramus after a burglary slammed into a Glen Rock police car, sending an officer to the hospital, police said.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Three juveniles were arrested and a police officer was sent to the hospital after a stolen car slammed into a police vehicle in Glen Rock last week.

Police in Glen Rock said that last Tuesday, around 4:04 a.m., Paramus police were pursuing a stolen vehicle fleeing an attempted residential burglary.

The car then crashed into a Glen Rock Police vehicle at the offramp from Route 208 North to
Harristown Road, at the Glen Rock/Fair Lawn border, police said.

The injured Glen Rock officer was still on Harristown Road, heading to the area of the pursuit, and was not part of the chase.

The injured officer was treated at Hackensack University Medical Center and released.

The police vehicle was "extensively damaged" and was towed from the scene, police said.

Paramus police took the two juvenile occupants of the stolen vehicle into custody immediately, police said.

Meanwhile, a third juvenile was captured by Paramus Police at the burglary scene, police said.

Two of the juveniles live in Newark, and a third is from South Amboy, police said.

Two were charged with joyriding and criminal attempt to commit burglary. The driver was charged with eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, and conspiracy to commit burglary.

The motor vehicle crash was investigated by the Fair Lawn Police Department.
