2 Roads Closed In Summit Due To PSE&G Gas Pipe Replacement

The PSE&G project is expected to be complete by early summer 2023 depending on project progress over the winter.

SUMMIT, NJ — The City announced that two roads are closed in Summit on Thursday, Feb. 9.

Karen Way is closed between Wade Drive and Woodland Avenue until around 4 p.m., and Fernwood Road is closed between Beacon Road and Hillcrest Avenue until around 4 p.m.

This is due to a PSE&G project to replace gas pipes throughout Summit that is currently underway.

Work is expected to be complete by early summer 2023 depending on project progress over the winter. PSE&G crews will be replacing mains and services on the following streets in Summit over the next week:

  • Brantwood Drive between Fernwood Road and Arden Place
  • Lorraine Road between Norwood Avenue and Lorraine Place
  • Karen Way between Wade Drive and Woodland Avenue
  • Essex Rd between Whittredge Road and Springfield Avenue
  • Rotary Lane between Rotary Drive and West Lane
  • Rotary Drive between Tanglewood Lane and Highland Drive
  • Tanglewood Drive between Ashland Road and Dale Drive

Road closures and detours will be in effect, and Summit police will be onsite to direct traffic. Work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., weather permitting.
