Toms River Elks Welcomes 26 New Members May 9 For Total Of Over 1,300

Toms River Elks #1875 welcomed 26 new members during a ceremony held May 9, 2024, making the total membership of the lodge over 1,300. Exalted Ruler Richard G. Miller presided over the event, along with Lodge 1875 officers, committee chairs and members. Toms River looks forward to sharing time and ideas with these new members, and hopes they enjoy everything the lodge has to offer including charity, fellowship, and fun.

The Order of the Elks spends more than $80,000,000 every year for benevolent, educational and patriotic community-minded programs in such fields as benefitting special needs children, sponsoring Elks National Foundation scholarships, scouting, athletic teams, veterans' works, a national "Hoop Shoot" free-throw contest involving more than 3 million children, physical and occupational therapy programs and patriotic programs. Each year, the Elks award more than $3 million in college scholarships to at least 850 outstanding, service-minded high school seniors.

Toms River Elks #1875 is one of eleven lodges in the Southeast District of New Jersey, the largest district in the state. Toms River's membership is now over 1,300, making it one of the largest lodges in the Southeast District. The Toms River Elks Lodge celebrates its 70th anniversary during 2023-24.
