Police Looking For Vehicle Of Interest In Watchung Hit-And-Run

Authorities are looking for a white Hyundai Sonata in connection with a hit-and-run where a 12-year-old boy was seriously injured.

WATCHUNG, NJ — Authorities are looking for a vehicle of interest in a hit-and-run that injured a 12-year-old boy Tuesday.

Police are looking for a white Hyundai Sonata in connection with the Valley Road crash, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said in a news release.

After the crash, which occurred shortly before 7 p.m., the vehicle fled westbound, Robertson previously said.

The boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries, Robertson said. He was with several other juveniles who were not hit or injured. The boy was reportedly still in stable condition Friday afternoon, he said.

Watchung police officers and detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) went to the crash scene and investigated.
