Police Drill To Halt Bus Service At Wayne Rt. 23 Transit Center

The drill will halt bus service at the stop for about four hours Saturday.

WAYNE, NJ — Officials will shut down bus service at the Wayne Route 23 Transit Center on Saturday for a police drill. New Jersey Transit expects to halt bus service from the stop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The drill will gauge responses to a simulated transportation incident. In addition to NJ Transit authorities, the following entities will participate: Wayne fire, Wayne police, Wayne EMS, the Wayne Office of Emergency Management, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department, the Federal Railroad Administration and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Residents and customers are advised that they'll see an increased presence of police and emergency personnel in the area. Customers on the Nos. 194, 198, or 748 lines are advised to use the Willowbrook Mall location as an alternate.

The New Jersey Transit Police Department conducts several drills and training sessions to simulate various emergency scenarios.
