East Broad Street To Be Paved This Week In Westfield

Construction will begin Monday night and continue through next week.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Union County will be paving East Broad Street between South Euclid and North Avenue beginning on Monday night.

"Due to a scheduling change, Union County has begun the milling of East Broad Street between South Euclid Avenue and West North Avenue tonight. Work is being performed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.," said Westfield Police on Monday night.

Mayor Shelley Brindle said the project would "result in a tremendous improvement to the road conditions in Downtown Westfield."

Milling is expected to take place on Tuesday, June 11 and Wednesday, June 12, with paving to follow on Thursday, June 13 and Friday, June 14.

Striping will be put in place the following week, on Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18. All work is weather permitting.
