Westfield Volunteers Serve Up 250 Meals At Community Unity Fest

The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) joined forces with One Family One Fight to support their Community Unity Fest at Middlebush Park in Somerset.

SOMERSET, NJ — The Rapid Relief Team (RRT), the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, joined forces with One Family One Fight to support their Community Unity Fest at Middlebush Park in Somerset.

The event kicked off the Stop the Violence Weekend with a family fun day featuring free food, games, and community resources, all in support of the local youth.

Fourteen local RRT volunteers from across Westfield and Somerset served 250 meals to attendees over the course of the day. The Community Unity Fest is dedicated to fostering unity and providing valuable resources to the youth of Somerset.

"We are honored to be able to contribute to One Family One Fight’s mission," said Ron MacPherson, RRT’s Team Leader at the event. "At RRT, we strive to provide support and relief wherever it is needed, and this event is a perfect opportunity for us to give back to the youth of Somerset through a day of fun, food, and community bonding."

Kim Banks, a representative from One Family One Fight, praised the collaboration: "The support from the Rapid Relief Team was deeply appreciated. Their dedication to serving the community aligns with our mission to stop the violence and provide positive resources for our youth. We can’t thank them enough for their food and friendship."
