Brooklyn Man Rescued From Wrecked Car In Hillsdale: Police

A man was removed from his vehicle by fire and ambulance officials after crashing his car into a brook at Ruckman Road and Piermont Avenue.

HILLSDALE, NJ — A Brooklyn, New York man was injured in a single car accident in Hillsdale on Sunday night, police said.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of Ruckman Road and Piermont Avenue just before midnight for a single car accident in which a vehicle ran off the roadway into a brook, police said.

At the scene, police determined that the car was driven by a 28-year-old man from Brooklyn, who has not been identified. Hillsdale fire and ambulance officials were called to the scene to assist in removing him from the wrecked car, police said.

According to police, the vehicle was traveling south on Ruckman Road and went across Piermont Avenue where it left the roadway and crashed into the brook.

The vehicle was removed via a tow truck and driver was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The driver was issued a number of summonses, including for driving without a license, operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs and DWI on or near school property.
