ESPN To Broadcast 2 Games Featuring Top N.J. High School Football Teams This Season

Bergen Catholic will face off against DePaul Catholic Oct. 9 and Paramus Catholic will play Oct. 23 against IMG Academy of Florida.

ESPN will broadcast two games featuring three of the top high school football teams in New Jersey this upcoming season.

DePaul Catholic’s game against Bergen Catholic at DePaul Oct. 9 will be shown beginning at 8 p.m. on ESPNU from DePaul.

Bergen Catholic finished 8-3 last season. Star senior quarterback Jarrett Guarantano, the No. 5 ranked dual-threat quarterback in the country, and No. 87 ranked overall, has committed to Tennessee.

DePaul won the Public Group 2 state title last year and returns with the No. 1 running back in the country, Kareem Walker. Walker, who has committed to Ohio State, is ranked 22nd in ESPN’s top 300 players national list.

Senior defensive back Quayshon Alexander, ranked No. 293 in ESPN’s top 300, who has committed to Nebraska, also returns for DePaul.

The second game features Paramus Catholic, No. 15 in the country, at No. 2 IMG Academy of Florida. The game will be played on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 for Florida.

ESPN 300’s No.1-ranked player Rashan Gary returns for Paramus Catholic and remains uncommitted. Paramus also has two players ranked in the ESPN Junior 300: defensive end Croey Bolds (No. 113) and linebacker Drew Singleton (No. 201).

Paramus Catholic finished 10-2 last season, advancing to the Non-Public Group 4 championship.
