Part Of Forest Avenue In Westwood Will Be Resurfaced

Work is expected to begin this summer, but county officials did not give any definite timetable.

WESTWOOD, NJ — Part of a few nearby major roads, including Lafayette Avenue, will be resurfaced this summer, Bergen County officials announced Monday.

Lafayette Avenue, from Ridgewood Road to Washington Avenue, will be resurfaced in July and August.

Also included in the project are the resurfacing of Solider Hill Road, from Kinderkamack Road in Oradell to Forest Avenue in Emerson and Forest Avenue to Lafayette Avenue in Westwood, officials said in a news release.

Also, the resurfacing of Kinderkamack Road in Oradell will begin this summer, officials said.

No specific start and end dates were provided. It is unknown if, or for how long, roads would be closed while work is performed.

"Construction of our roadways and bridges can be inconvenient, however, it is a necessary aspect of investing in infrastructure improvements to maintain the safety and well-being of the county’s residents," county officials said.
