WESTWOOD, NJ — A woman was hit and killed by a commuter train Monday morning at the intersection of Broadway and Jefferson Avenue in Westwood, New Jersey Transit spokesperson Jim Smith said.

At approximately 9:47 a.m., the Pascack Valley Line Train — from Hoboken to Spring Valley — struck the pedestrian, Smith said.

No injuries were reported to the crew or the 30 customers on board, the state agency said.

Pascack Valley service is suspended in both directions between the Spring Valley and New Bridge Landing stations. NJ Transit police are leading the investigation.
