Why I Walk to End Alzheimer's: David Stamberg

Closter resident raising awareness and funds in fight to end Alzheimer's

The Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter is spotlighting people and organizations who are making a difference in the fight to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia, by participating in the upcoming 2022 Walk To End Alzheimer’s (WTEA) - the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

Today we say thank you to David Stamberg, franchise owner of Senior Care Authority. David is the Event Chair, a participant and corporate sponsor of the Bergen-Passaic Walk to End Alzheimer's, taking place this year on Sunday, October 16 at Overpeck Park in Ridgefield Park, NJ (Senior Care Authority is also a sponsor of the Monmouth-Ocean WTEA on October 1 in Bradley Beach). David, and Senior Care Authority, serving the elderly for over a decade, are committed to helping seniors live their best life and provides support and resources for families navigating challenging transitions. David’s extraordinary passion and dedication to helping all those affected by the disease has inspired and motivated others to get involved. The funds raised by his effort, and others, helps propel the Association’s mission forward - accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

"We are thankful for the support of David and Senior Care Authority. David has proven to be an invaluable member of the volunteer team and continues to help us expand our reach in the community," said, Casey Snyder, Director of Development, Alzheimer’s Association Greater NJ Chapter.

David explains, “Working alongside fellow volunteers, I look to raise awareness and funds through the Walk to support the critical resources provided by the Alzheimer's Association. I am very excited for what 2022 has in store as we prepare for a fun and meaningful community event.”

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease, the sixth-leading cause of death in the U.S. and the only disease among the top 10 that cannot be cured, prevented, or even slowed. Additionally, more than 11 million family and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias in the U.S. In New Jersey alone, there are more than 190,000 people living with the disease and 361,000 caregivers.
