BAY SHORE, NY — A 17-year-old Bay Shore teen has been missing for more than a week, the Suffolk County Police Department announced Monday. Rayshaun Lee was reported missing after he did not return to his home on Benton Place in Bay Shore on May 27, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Police said he has brown eyes and brown hair, weighs approximately 160 pounds and is 5 feet 10 inches tall. Police are asking for the community's help locating her. Anyone with information can call 911 or 631-852-COPS.

As temperatures rise during the summer months, it&rsquo;s
crucial for seniors to take extra precautions to stay healthy and safe. As we
age, our bodies become less efficient at regulating temperature, which makes it
harder to recognize the signs of overheating.
The heat can exacerbate chronic conditions more common
in seniors, such as heart disease, diabetes, or respiratory disorders. Plus,
certain medications commonly prescribed to older adults can affect the body&rsquo;s
ability to stay hydrated and regulate temperature. Diuretics, for instance,
increase water loss, while some blood pressure medications may reduce the
body&rsquo;s ability to cool itself.

Sayville&rsquo;s</a> Director of Nursing, Danielle Hamilton,
shared some tips to help older adults beat the heat and enjoy the sunny season
without compromising their well-being.
1. Stay Hydrated
Dehydration is a major concern during hot weather,
especially for seniors. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you
don&rsquo;t feel thirsty. Avoid beverages that can dehydrate you, such as alcohol and
caffeinated drinks. Consider drinking sports drinks in moderation to replenish
electrolytes lost through sweating.
If drinking water can feel difficult, try sparkling
water or infused water with fruit or vegetables. Some refreshing combinations
include lemon &amp; raspberry, cucumber &amp; mint, or orange &amp; blueberry.
2. Dress Appropriately
Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing made from
breathable fabrics like cotton. A wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses can protect
you from the sun&rsquo;s harmful rays. Opt for lightweight shoes that allow your feet
to breathe.
3. Stay Indoors During Peak Hours
The sun is strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Try to
stay indoors during these hours, especially on sweltering days. If you need to
be outside, seek shade whenever possible and take frequent breaks in cooler
areas.
4. Monitor Medications
Some medications can affect your body&rsquo;s ability to
regulate temperature or stay hydrated. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about
any potential side effects related to heat and ask for advice on managing your
medications during hot weather.
5. Know the Signs of Heat-Related
Illness
Be aware of the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Symptoms of heat exhaustion include heavy sweating, weakness,
dizziness, nausea, and headache. Heat stroke symptoms are more severe and can
include a high body temperature, confusion, and loss of consciousness. If you
experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
6. Stay Connected
Regularly check in with family, friends, or neighbors,
especially if you live alone. They can help monitor your well-being and ensure
you take the necessary steps to stay cool. Don&rsquo;t hesitate to ask for help if
you&rsquo;re overwhelmed by the heat.
