Hauppauge Students Explore College Campuses, Take In Nightlife: Photos

Students toured college campuses and enjoyed fun, local activities, including Six Flags, mini golf, and an entertainment venue.

HAUPPAUGE, NY — A group of 32 Hauppauge High School students recently embarked on a weeklong trip, touring various college campuses, the school district announced.

The trip was open to all students entering grades nine through 12 and runs annually during the summer.

The first day began with visits to Salve Regina University and Roger Williams University, where students explored the campuses, learned about academic programs and enjoyed lunch. That evening, they relaxed at Mulligan’s Island Mini Golf in Cranston, Rhode Island.

On Tuesday, the group toured Bryant University and Providence College, gaining insights into business-focused and liberal arts education, respectively. The day concluded with dinner at Chick-fil-A and an exciting evening at Nomad’s Entertainment, featuring laser tag, mini golf, bumper cars and a rock-climbing wall.

Wednesday's itinerary included Worcester Polytechnic Institute where students delved into project-based learning and research programs, followed by a thrilling afternoon at Six Flags New England.

Thursday featured Boston College and Bentley University, followed by an evening of bowling and arcade games at APEX Entertainment. The tour wrapped up on Friday with visits to Boston University and UMass Amherst, showcasing diverse academic opportunities and campus life.

The trip concluded with a ferry ride from Bridgeport to Port Jefferson, allowing students to reflect on their experiences and enjoy a final meal together before returning to Hauppauge High School.
