2 Injured When Pickup Truck Crashes Into Levittown Bus Stop

Police say a pickup truck crashed into the glass-enclosed bus stop, seriously injuring two people.

LEVITTOWN, NY — Nassau County police have released more details of the car crash at a bus stop in Levittown that severely injured two people.

According to police, a 46-year-old man was driving a 2005 Ford pickup truck out of the parking lot of the Tri-County Flea Market, at 3041 Hempstead Turnpike, just before noon, when he struck the bus stop enclosure.

Police say there were two women, ages 45 and 18, sitting in the enclosure when it was hit. They both suffered multiple traumatic injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital, where they are listed in critical but stable condition.

Good Samaritans helped lift the roof of the bus stop off the women, ABC 7 reported.

Police did not release the names of either victim. The driver, who police also did not name, remained at the scene.
