Hazardous Weather Outlook in Effect for Long Island
National Weather Service issues advisory.
Long Island is under a hazardous weather outlook with a dense fog advisory in effect until midnight, according to the National Weather Service.
Visibilities on the roadways may drop to a quarter mile or less at times and cause hazardous travel conditions, the advisory says.
If driving, the NWS urges travelers to slow down, use low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead in case a sudden stop is needed.
