Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Levittown

The remnants of Tropical Depression Bill could soak the area Father's Day weekend.

If you have outdoor plans for Father’s Day this Sunday, you may want to go ahead and try to move those plans to Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for all of Long Island, warning that the remnants of Tropical Depression Bill could produce heavy rainfall on Sunday that could lead to flooding.

Bill made landfall in Texas on Tuesday as a tropical storm, but the storm has since been downgraded to a tropical depression. The storm caused massive flooding in parts of Texas on Wednesday and on Thursday it was targeting Oklahoma, where the NWS says could “catastrophic” flooding is possible.

Bill is expected to weaken considerably before the storm’s remnants hit the Northeast this weekend.

Saturday is the day to be outside on Long Island, with mostly sunny skies on tap and high temperatures in the mid-70s. On Sunday, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms are likely, with the chance of rain shrinking in the evening, according to current NWS forecasts.
