Nassau Police ID Delivery Driver Killed In Crash

The crash between a FedEx truck and a box truck killed one and injured two others, police said.

LEVITTOWN, NY — Nassau County police have identified the 23-year-old delivery driver who was killed in a crash in Levittown on June 15.

According to police, at 10:13 a.m., 23-year-old Zachary Allen, of Oceanside, was driving a FedEx delivery truck and was involved in a crash with a 2017 Hino box truck being driven by a 58-year-old man. Both trucks were heading south on Jerusalem Avenue, near the intersection with Hempstead Turnpike.

The driver of the box truck and his passenger, a 56-year-old man, were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Allen was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:38 a.m.

Police say no criminality is suspected, but the investigation is ongoing.
