LONG ISLAND, NY — Fall officially began Friday, and Long Island is the perfect place to enjoy autumnal activities and foods.

Nothing is more delicious than fresh cider donuts.

Here are five must-visit places to snag the best cider donuts on Long Island:

Jericho Cider Mill

This historic cider mill has been around since the 1800s. Unlike other businesses, the Jericho Cider Mill bakes their donuts instead of frying.

Donuts are sold by the piece and in five-packs at the cider mill, as well as at other retail outlets around Long Island.


Harbes Family Farm & Vineyard

715 Sound Ave, Mattituck

Harbes Family Farm & Vineyard offers numerous fall activities, such as apple picking, pumpkin patches, hay rides and corn mazes. But no trip to the farm is complete without their signature cider donuts, sold at their Mattituck farmstand location.

Woodside Orchards offers more than 28 varieties of apples for picking — but most importantly — for its ciders and cider donuts.

After an afternoon of picking, visitors can enjoy a fresh, warm donut in hand. Woodside Orchards also offers a wide selection of hard ciders, which can be sampled in flights or pints and taken home in growlers.

Donuts can also be made available to order and in bulk.


Wickham's Fruit Farm

28700 Main Road, Cutchogue

History buffs of Long Island will need to run — not walk — to this unique cider mill. Wickham's Fruit Farm has the oldest cider press on the island, which was built in 1902.

Their cider and cider donuts are made from apples grown on the farm, with their own mix of apples that create a unique flavor.

Donuts are fresh-made on the premises from Monday through Saturday and are sold in bags of six.
