33-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck By Car In Coram

BREAKING: Police say he walked into the roadway into the path of a Mercedes-Benz Wednesday afternoon.

CORAM, NY – A 33-year-old man was struck and killed by a car in Coram Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

A Shoreham man was driving a 2010 Mercedes-Benz northbound on North Ocean Avenue, near Hawkins Road, when the car struck William Moschetto, who walked into the roadway into the path of the vehicle at about 12:15 p.m.

Moschetto, of Mount Sinai, was taken via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
