LONG ISLAND, NY — The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:

Thunderstorms ahead of an approaching cold front on Monday have the potential to produce damaging winds. Large hail and an isolated tornado may also be possible.

A dense fog advisory is also in effect until 10 a.m. Sunday. Hazardous driving conditions are likely due to low visibility or a quarter-mile or less, the weather service says.

Once the rain moves on by early Tuesday, the rest of the week looks dry with temperatures approaching 80 degrees come next weekend.
