Man Dies After Being Struck By 2 Cars On LIE

He was pronounced dead at the scene early Sunday.

MEDFORD, NY — A man was killed when he was struck by two vehicles on the Long Island Expressway early Sunday, police said.

According to Suffolk police, the man was walking across the eastbound LIE between exits 64 and 65 in Medford when he was struck by a 2016 Jeep Cherokee and then by a 2022 Honda Pilot at 12:31 a.m.

The victim, who has not yet been identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The driver of the Jeep, a 58-year-old Yaphank man, and the driver of the Honda, a 53-year-old Medford man, were not injured. No criminal charges have been filed.
