Patchogue Family YMCA Hosts Monthly "Family First Friday" Events

YMCA Provides Fun and Healthy Indoor Activities for Parents and Children to Enjoy During Winter

The Patchogue Family YMCA launched a new monthly event called “Family First Fridays,” featuring Family Bingo, Zumba, access to the pool, use of the gym and teen center, and other YMCA programs for the entire family. Each “Family First Friday” takes place on the first Friday of every month. The next “Family First Friday” will take place on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and is included with all Full Family Memberships.

“The YMCA is dedicated to providing programs for the community where families can enjoy healthy and fun ways to spend time together,” said Anne Brigis, President and CEO of the YMCA of Long Island. “The program opened in November with 18 families and we are excited to see it has grown to more than 40 families in February, with an even greater response in months to come. These special events are meant to strengthen bonds within and amongst families of the Patchogue and the surrounding community.”

The Patchogue Family YMCA recently constructed a large playscape in the lobby called the Adventure Zone. The indoor jungle gym was created for families with children of all ages, allowing them to climb, jump, slide and receive the physical activities they need in a safe environment. The facility also features a heated indoor pool, a state-of-the art cardio and strength training center, an indoor rock climbing wall, a cycling studio, multiple exercise studios, full day child care and preschool, summer day camp, and a variety of programs from infants to seniors.
