Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Hit-And-Run Crash: Police

MEDFORD, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in Medford Saturday night, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place at about 8:35 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 101 and Southaven Avenue. A man was crossing County Road 101 when he was struck by a vehicle in the northbound lanes; the driver continued heading north without stopping, police said.

The man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.
