What Snow? Warming Temps To Spare Long Island

The forecast has changed once again and if you hate snow, you will like it.

Less than 24 hours ago, the National Weather Service was estimating that Long Island would see 2-3 inches of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. But warming temperatures are now expected to bring "primarily a rain event" to the region.

The NWS map above shows the now meager odds for more than an inch of snow on the island.

Tuesday Night- A slight chance of snow before 1am, then rain and snow likely between 1am and 4am, then rain after 4am. Low around 35. East wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Wednesday- Rain before 10am, then rain and snow likely between 10am and 4pm, then a slight chance of snow after 4pm. High near 36. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Wednesday Night- Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 21. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph.

Thursday- Sunny, with a high near 34. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. West wind 9 to 14 mph.

Thursday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 24. West wind 9 to 11 mph.

Friday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 39.

Friday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 29.

Saturday- Sunny, with a high near 45.
