  1. A five-foot alligator was turned in to the Suffolk County SPCA on Wednesday after an anonymous tip was submitted about the illegal pet. The owner of the nine-year-old alligator did not have a permit. (News 12)
  2. A woman was arrested for allegedly leaving two dogs inside a locked car in Manorville. A 911 call led to police finding Maria Chojnncka's car at County Road 111 and Chapman Boulevard with two dogs unattended. (Daily Voice)
  3. A group of Brookhaven Town residents gathered on Tuesday at the Rose Caracappa Senior Center in Mount Sinai to express concerns over proposed redistricting plans for the town council districts. Districts 1 and 2 would change under the new plan, with half of Port Jefferson Station/Terryville combining with half of Mount Sinai. (TBR News Media)

  • Suffolk County police are asking the public to help locate a man who used a card stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on Woodcutters Path in Nesconset on July 27. The card was later used at several stores including CVS in Huntington Station and Dicks Sporting Goods in Valley Stream. (Smithtown Matters)
