  1. A dog was found safe a month after a fire an a Port Jefferson Station home. Zeke, a six-year-old Labrador retriever mix, ran away on July 10 and his owner, an 83-year-old woman, died in the fire. The woman's 76-year-old husband is in the hospital. (Patch)
  2. No one voted in the recent Brookhaven Town Tri-Harbor Ambulance District referendum on changes to volunteers’ retirement plans. The final results of Tuesday's vote were 0-0. Tri-Harbor is 20, 3030 residents in Mount Sinai, Port Jefferson and Belle Terre. (Subscription: Newsday)
  3. A Bellport man has been convicted of a violent armed home invasion in Shirley. Miguel Ruiz, 29, attacked an autistic 18-year-old in the incident on May 7, 2021. (News 12)
