East Williston School District Appoints New Administrator

EAST WILLISTON, NY — The East Williston School District is getting a new assistant superintendent for instruction and personnel.

On Feb. 14, the school board unanimously approved the appointment of Director of Technology, Innovation, and Information Services Edward Kemnitzer as the district's next Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Personnel, effective July 1.

His appointment follows an extensive search process conducted by a committee of stakeholders within the East Williston School District and the community. After an initial screening of resumes, first-round interviews were conducted, followed by additional in-depth interviews conducted by the search committee, according to officials.

"On behalf of the board, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the search and interview process to ensure the selection of the best candidate to lead the way in the areas of K-12 curriculum and personnel," said Board of Education President Mark Kamberg. "Through this appointment, we will continue to provide our students with the highest quality education presented by a professional staff that is second to none. We are confident Ed Kemnitzer will meet and exceed our expectations."

Kemnitzer earned his bachelor's degree in English and secondary education from SUNY Geneseo and a master's in English Literature from Queens College. He also received a School Building Leader and School District Leader certification from The College of Saint Rose in Albany.
