Geocache your way through Sands Point Preserve
Family fun event on Sept. 12 includes make-your-own trinket crafts
Families can enjoy a day of geocache – a treasure hunt using a GPS device or smart phone app – at Sands Point Preserve on Saturday, Sept. 12.
You’ll receive the coordinates and clues needed to find multiple points on the Preserves 216 Gold Coast acres. By plugging in the latitude and longitude of designated points, your GPS or smartphone will guide you to the hidden “caches.” Along the way, enjoy the scenery, trails, beach and water views, and historic sites and architecture while challenging your observation skills and feeding your sense of adventure.
No experience necessary. But if you need some basic instruction with your GPS, the staff at Sands Point Preserve is here to help.

Check in any time between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to get started, and during that time, stop at the make-your-own-trinket tables to create a trinket to exchange at the GPS points.
