NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A Herricks High School senior was one of four flute players from across the country selected for a prestigious all-national symphony orchestra. Carolyn Lau traveled to National Harbor, Maryland in early November to perform with the National Association for Music Education (NAFME) part of the All-National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Nobuyoshi Yasuda.

Lau was first flute and had a solo in the performance.

"It was a thrilling experience meeting passionate musicians from so many different places, from Alaska to Florida, and seeing how much we could grow musically and connect with each other over such a short time period," she said.
