Herricks Students Help Donate Over 3.2K Pounds Of Food: ICYMI
Two Herricks High School students were among those recognized by the Town of North Hempstead for their efforts.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — Students at Herricks High School were recognized by the Town of North Hempstead for helping donate 3,238.7 pounds of non-perishable food items to the Mary Brennan Interfaith Nutrition Network on Long Island.
Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena recently commended Iman Sedigh and Ellica Sedigh at an event in Hempstead. The students are also members of the MTO Shahmaghsoudi NY/NJ, an institution centered around Islamic Sufism. The organization helped with food donations.

Mary Brennan INN Soup Kitchen tackles issues of hunger and homelessness on Long Island by providing food, shelter, long-term housing, and supportive services in a dignified and respectful manner, according to a press statement.
Officials said the Herricks students "did an amazing job in helping address the issues of food scarcity and food insecurity that 1 in 4 adults on Long Island face every day."
