MERILLON SPORTS ASSOCIATION CHANGES LITTLE LEAGUE NAME TO NEW HYDE PARK NORTH LITTLE LEAGUE

NEW HYDE PARK, NY. October 19, 2018 - After 67 years of serving children of all ages bringing little league baseball to the New Hyde Park and surrounding communities, Merillon Little League has changed their name to New Hyde Park North Little League for the 2019 Spring Season. The league remains completely intact carrying on their rich tradition of organizing little league baseball and softball for the youth of our community. The league will continue to provide volunteer coaches, trainers and fields along with their headquarters and home field complex and clubhouse on Marcus Avenue near New Hyde Park Road.

The name change was made in an effort to inform new residents of the area who may not know which league to register their children with. “The purpose of the name change is to give current and future residents an easier way to find us when they start searching for the league to play for in our area” says chairman Tom Murphy. The New Hyde Park North Little League organization will remain under the umbrella of Merillon Sports Association.

New Hyde Park North Little League will continue to offer intramural baseball game-play, instruction and guidance to children as they enter pre-k and run through grade 7, ages 4 through 13. Spring 2019 registration is available now at www.nhpnll.org offering discounted rates now through January 15, at which time full rates will go into effect. All children are welcome to play and parents are encouraged to get involved by volunteering as coaching positions need to be filled. President Mark Wasserman added "We welcome all children regardless of skill level as well as strongly encouraging parents and family members to volunteer for positions within the league”.
