LI Middle School Teacher Suspended Due To 'Disturbing' Video: District

The Herricks Board of Education is expected to hold a meeting on Thursday evening.

HERRICKS, NY — A middle school teacher in the Herricks School District has been removed from the classroom following a controversial video.

Dr. Tony Sinanis, Superintendent of Schools, wrote in a message to the families:

"It has come to our attention that there is a video currently circulating on various platforms that allegedly features one of our teachers. We understand that the contents of this video are disturbing and upsetting."

Sinanis said the district is conducting a "full investigation."

One parent told News 12 that "it has to be something serious if the teacher was removed from the classroom."
