New Inclusive Playground Opens At New Hyde Park Elementary School

Manor Oaks School's new playground was "built to allow children of all ages and abilities to play together," district says.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A new playground was unveiled at Manor Oaks School in New Hyde Park, designed to be inclusive. A ribbon cutting on Nov. 9th was followed by students exploring the new playground, colored red, yellow, black and white in the school colors.

The playground is wheelchair accessible, has a soft grass turf surface and "promotes physical, cognitive, sensory and social skills," the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School said.

District hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of Manor Oaks School’s new inclusive playground on Nov. 9.
