The Waldorf School of Garden City Expands Parent & Child Classes

-

Garden City, New York—The Waldorf School of Garden City recently announced an expanded schedule of their weekly Parent & Child Program for Fall 2023. The Waldorf School’s Parent & Child Program offers parents, guardians, and caregivers an opportunity to connect with their children aged birth to 3 years old in a homelike setting. The program will now be offered with weekday classes from 9am to 11am and 11am to 1pm, as well as a Saturday morning class.

The Parent & Child program provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for children to engage in free play and socialization. Class will also include circle time, songs, poems, puppet play and preparation and sharing of snacks. Teachers will share insights about life with a toddler and lead class discussions to create an open conversation between parents. The program helps to provide a model of what community means for young children.

The Waldorf School of Garden City was established in 1947 and is an independent college preparatory day school for children in Nursery through twelfth grade, as well as Parent-Child Programs. The school derives its curriculum after the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, which takes a holistic, 21st century approach to developing students’ intellectual, artistic and critical thinking skills by inspiring their natural imagination and creativity. Its sprawling 10-acre campus features playgrounds, gardens and playing fields along with comprehensive indoor facilities including a large gymnasium, performance space and library. In line with the Waldorf philosophy, the school also includes three laboratories, fiber arts studio, a woodshop, music rooms and visual arts studios.
