This is the Year of the Girl Scout!

Join the Girl Scouts of Nassau County as they Celebrate their Centennial Anniversary

Garden City, NY (September 21, 2018) – Girl Scouts of Nassau County has officially opened its enrollment for 2018-2019, marking the council’s 100th year of offering a safe, no-limits, place designed specifically for girls. To commemorate this milestone year, the Girl Scouts of Nassau County will be holding several celebratory events and activities to further inspire girls to seek out new challenges, build important skills and take the lead.

“A lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure starts here—we cannot wait for new and returning Girl Scouts to join us and reach their full potential,” said Randell M Bynum, CEO of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “We have so many exciting activities planned for this year. We are settled into our new headquarters, and we are ready for a year full of fun, learning, discovery and empowerment.”

Along with the Centennial Celebration, GSNC will also be hosting trips for rock climbing and hiking, 3D movie making, coding for all ages and more programs to educate girls in science, nature and technology.

We’re the Girl Scouts of Nassau County: We’re 21, 000 strong – 16,000 girls and 5,000 adults who believe in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ from Nassau County to change the world. Our extraordinary journey began more than 100 years ago with the original G.I.R.L., Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low. On March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, she organized the very first Girl Scout Troop, and every year since, we’ve honored her vision and legacy, building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. For the last 100 year, we have been the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs in Nassau County, across Long Island and throughout the United States and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.
