Arrest After Gun Reportedly Brandished At Main Street Gas Station

The trail led police to a distinctive blue Corvette parked outside of a nearby New Rochelle nightspot on Drake Ave.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A tip about a weapon led to a distinctive blue Corvette at a New Rochelle nightspot and the arrest of a Queens man.

In the early morning hours Monday, shortly after 4 a.m., New Rochelle police got an anonymous call claiming a person was seen at the Pit Stop gas station on Main Street displaying a gun.

The caller gave no further information other than to say that the suspect was driving a blue Corvette with Connecticut license plates. Officers canvassed the area and soon located a blue Corvette with Connecticut plates parked and unoccupied outside the Drake Main Café, a short distance away from the Pit Stop gas station.

The driver of the Corvette was located and he was found to be in possession of illegal drugs with a loaded .45 caliber handgun in the blue Corvette. Feras Khrisat, of Queens, was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon. The 51-year-old also faces misdemeanor criminal possession controlled substance and criminal contempt charges.

Police said that no other evidence was found of the gun being displayed at the nearby gas station. Anyone with information on this incident is being asked to call the New Rochelle Police Department at 914-654-2300.
