Coastal Flood Statement Issued for Sound Shore in Westchester

High tides could be more than 1 to 2 feet above normal.

The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Statement for areas near the Long Island Sound in Westchester County from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

There could be localized minor coastal flooding during high tide this evening.

Tidal departures could be 1 to 2 feet above astronomical tides between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Minor flooding of the most vulnerable shore roads and/or basement might occur due to the height of the store tide or wave splashover.

It is expected the majority of the roads will remain passable and any impact on property to be minimal.
